Help In Time Of Need

When we go to the doctor, and sends us for tests and blood works, it rattles our spirit.  If there were nothing wrong, the doctor would send us home saying, "nothing to worry about, see me in six months."  Our mind quickly plays tricks on us, and we would imagine all the worst scenario anyone could ever imagine.

Suddenly the dominance of our situation was snatched away from our hands!  We feel lost and scared!  The water seems fathomless, and panic is about to take hold.  Words of assurance don't seem to reach that little private corner of your heart.  The 'What If' game immediately started and you were quickly absorbed, and the spinning roulette went faster and faster!  Then all of a sudden, you drew in a big breath and cried, "Lord help me!"

This setting reminded me of Peter when he cried, "Lord, save me."  Matthew 14:30.  I love the next verse 31.."And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" In whatever situation we find ourselves in, we should immediately ask God for help.

In 1 Peter 5:7, we were admonished to cast all our cares upon him.  Because why?  He cares.  In Isaiah 41:10, God said not to fear nor be dismayed.  Because why?  He is our God.  And that, He also promised to give help and give us strength.  I love the last part... He also promised to hold us up, support us, maintain us and to keep us.

Whatever is the matter, run to Him whose promise never fails.

With Prayer, You Are Never Alone.

                                 

We get overwhelmed with what's going on with our life.  As the saying goes, "When it rains, it pours."   Last week, I spent time visiting with my mom, my two daughters, and my grandchildren.  On the last full day of my visit, my daughter had a steam burn in her arm.  And while she was attending to her arm, her eldest son tripped and fell.  She attended to him while trying to protect her burnt arm.  She then decided to take him to the emergency room.  The x-ray showed that there was a break in his arm; not all the way thank the Lord.

As she left with her son, I assured her that we would be praying.  When her younger son heard the word "pray," he started praying with intensity asking Jesus to help his brother.  For the second time, on that visit, that precious little boy learned the importance and the power of prayer.  That was a tremendous blessing to me.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." This is a verse that I fervently claim in whatever circumstance that comes my way.  You and I have to be able to rely on someone for help and guidance.  We shouldn't do anything alone and by ourselves.

When we have an ally and a friend in Jesus, we are never abandoned nor deserted.  We are like a tree by the rivers of water (Psalm 1:3), always refreshed.

Are you overwhelmed?  Are you feeling down?  Are you feeling discouraged?  Find a verse that you can claim with passion, words from God's Book that will boost your faith to a higher level.  Remember, He is always there for you.

God Will Bring You Through

For several days, I've been singing the song "He'll Bring You Through."  Kim Collingsworth wrote the words and the music to it.  It just stuck with me.  I purchased the music sheet from their website and kept playing the piano and singing along with it.

I looked for verses that will go along with this song: 
Psalm 46:1-3 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be remove, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah

Psalm 3:3-4 "But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah

What a comfort.  I will share with you the lyrics to this song, and I hope and pray that if you are going through a storm in your life right now that you will look up to our God of refuge and strength.

Possess What You Profess

There are times that I can put into writing right away what's in my mind. But sometimes it takes several days to put it together.  Anyways, here is what I've been pondering these several days.

Have you ever said a lie?  I can safely say that every one of us has told a lie here and there.  Bad lie, a white lie or whatever lie it was, we professed something but didn't have the truth to back it up.

I have another question.  Have you ever suffered the consequence of telling a lie?  I sure did! I wan't a good liar, and I got found out real quick! From my grandparents, aunts and uncles and my parents, they made sure that I wouldn't be good at it! I assure you that it wasn't fun!  It was much better to tell the truth. When I had my children, the value of telling the truth gained much more weight.  I didn't want to be lied to.  I want to be able to trust them.  I want them to learn the value of truth.

We think it is awful when someone lies to us.  But we do it and have done it many times in our lives!  When I profess to be something that I'm not, in disappointment, you will dab me as 'double faced,' 'hypocrite,' Pharisee,' or a 'phony.'  Not maybe to my face but the thought will cross your mind.

John 1:12 tells us that in receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior, He gave us the adoption papers to have the right to become a child of God.  Our position has changed.  Our purpose has changed.  Our responsibilities has changed.  And if we profess to be other than what we really are, then the world has a right to call us phonies!

We are all concerned about what other people think about when it pertains to our earthly citizenship.  But as lot of times, we don't even consider what people perceive of us when it relates to our heavenly citizenship. Titus 1:6 "They profess that they know God, but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate."

As we go about our chores and whatnots, and as we mingle with family and friends, may we not forget to profess to those around us what we really posses inside us.  Th
at we are never alone and that we possess God's lasting peace and grace and that He guides each step of our way.   Let's show the world that what we profess is who we really are.

Catch Up! (English) - Ponerse Al Día (Spanish)

I am trying to catch up with my Scripture Writing.  I don't want just to do it and not get anything out of it.  I was in Ohio for a week, then just recently, I had my daughter and my grandchildren for a week.  That was a joy.

During these times, My Scripture Writing was hit and miss.  But I know that my husband and I needed that visit.  It is such a joy to know that our daughter loves us and to rekindle our bond with our grandchildren was heaven sent.

Our oldest grandson from our first daughter came along, too.  To talk with him filled my heart with joy.  He is such a handsome big boy at 13.  Most people that see him will think that he is at least two years older than his age. And because of that, people and we in the family find ourselves expecting more from him.  I am so proud of him.

This what caught my attention this morning.   2 Timothy 4:5 (KJV)
"But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." This is one reason I get behind in my Scripture Writing.  When God gets my attention, I stop and ponder on the verse He gave me that day.

This is what this verse is telling me:  Be always alert. Be at peace but at the same time, be on the lookout.  If things don't go my way, it's okay because God is always in control.  I should find reassurance through God's promises in His Word.  I should be ready to share how God is working in my life in word and in deed.  When people spend time with me, they should see something is different and that Christ's influence is manifested, felt and seen. If I "watch," "endure," and "work," I don't have to worry about my testimony as a Christian.  They will see it. My close communion with God is there to assure me all through the day.  I will feel it.

Ponerse A Día

Estoy tratratando de ponerme al día en escribir mi Escritura. No quiero solo hacerlo y aprender nada. Estaba en Ohio durante una semana y hace poco, tuve a mi hija y mis nietos por una semana.  Fue una alegría.

Durante este tiempo, no pude hacerlo fielmente. Pero sé que mi esposo y yo necesitaba esa visita.  Es una alegría saber que nuestras hijas nos aman y reavivar nuestro vínculo con nuestros nietos fue una bendición.

Nuestro nieto mayor vino también.  Y hablar con él lleno mi corazón de alegría.  Él es muy alto para su trese años de edad.  Mayoría de la gente que lo vea pensará que él es mayor que su edad al menos de dos años. Por eso las personas y nosotras en la familia nos encontramos esperar más de él.  Estoy tan orgullosa de él.  Él está creciendo m[i]ás Maduro de lo que es. Gracias por permitirme compartir este pequeño dato sobre mi familia esta mañana.

Esto es lo que me llamó la atención esta mañana.  2 Timoteo 4:5 (RVR1960)

“Pero tú sé sobrio en todo, … cumple tu ministerio.” Esta es una razón que me impide escribir mis Escrituras en tiempo. Cuando Dios me llama atención, me paro para reflexionar sobre el versículo que me dio ese día. 

Esto es lo que me está diciendo este verso.  Estar siempre alerta. Disfruta la paz de Dios, pero al mismo estar atento de que Satanás no me pone trampas para destruir mi vida y testimonio. Si las cosas no salen a mi manera, está bien porque Dios está siempre en control. Debo encontrar tranquilidad en la Palabra de Dios en los tiempo de angustias y problemas.  Estaría dispuesto a compartir cómo Dios está obrando en mi vida, no solo con mis palabras pero también en mi vida cotidiana.  Cuando la gente pasa tiempo conmigo, debería ver algo diferente y saber que Cristo hizo un cambio manifestado en mi vida. Si Él Espíritu de Dios controla mi comportamiento, y manera de pensar, entonces no debo preocuparme.  Las personas que me rodea va a ver a Cristo en mí.  Dios está siempre allí en mi lado para guiarme.
